The Deutsches Haus is now open 6 days a week for regular hours for beverages and food. And we have beautiful grounds with picnic tables and oak trees so you can be outside.

Kulturabend – Marie Laveau. Tuesday, August 19, 7pm. Dr. Ina J. Fandrich discusses this New Orleans legend and touches on her relationship with the German community. Sponsered by the German-American Cultural Center & the Ladies Auxiliary of the Deutsches Haus.
The NOLA String Kings. Wednesday, August 20, 7pm. Join us for a live performance by John Rankin, Don Vappie, and Matt Rhody.
Trivia Night. Friday, August 22, 7pm. Join us for friendly fun and prizes! Food available at 5:30 pm.
Coming to America Lecture Series. Sunday, August 24, 2pm. Mary Engler shares the story of Louis Corneille Hus Desforges, his story, and his connection to New Orleans.
Kino – Asphalt. Tuesday, August 26, 7:30 pm. The 1929 drama centered on a doomed romance between a young police sergeant and a streetwise thief in Berlin. Screened in German with subtitles in English.

Weekly and Monthly Activities
Choir. 1st and 3rd Fridays. The Damenchor (ladies) meet at 7 pm and the Saengerchor (men) meet at 8 pm. *More Information* Both groups would love to welcome new members.
Wander Gruppe -Running/Walking Group – Join in for a casual walk or run every Thursday. Choose your own pace & we’ll go for a 2 or 3 mile route in the park or neighborhood then gather at the Haus for Gemütlichkeit. Gather at 5:30 pm, leave for run/walk at 6pm.
Liederkranz – every third Thursday. Just for fun – sing-along with German folk songs. Everyone welcome.
